What Does The Bible Say About Patience?

Paul tells us in 1 James 2-8…
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Various trials…
In my opinion anything that tests your patience could certainly be considered a various trial. So what do we do when it comes to those trials? First, we need to have patience! And for me, I have certainly not arrived! I am the one that very seldom follows his own advice and pays later for not doing so!

When various trials come upon us we must start with a deep breath…
Maybe a pause to catch our thoughts. We take the time to think about the situation, we look to the bigger picture and ask ourselves… Is there a lesson here? Is this trial because of a committed sin or is God preparing me for something greater?

We must always think before we take the next step and then…
We must pray! As James tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Proverbs‬ ‭2:6-8 ‬tells us…
“For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.”

Look to God and He will give you patience, look to God and He will give you wisdom, Look to God and you will lack nothing! Amen?
