The new year is here! So now what? Do we ring in the new year by creating new resolutions that we’ll never keep? Do we continue to live life putting God second? Putting Jesus second? Continuing to live life in sin? I say we skip the New Year’s resolutions and turn to The Lord! For He is the only resolution worth making, the only resolution worth keeping! With Jesus front and center we can stay focused and stay on the right track! And what is the right track? The one that leads to the truth! The one that leads to a fruitful life! The one that leads to God! Jesus extends His hand and invites you to walk with Him.
When we walk with Jesus we can align ourselves with God’s plan and live life the way we were meant to live it! Not only that, but we will experience everlasting life with The Savior.
The Bible tells us that “Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” – Genesis 5:22-24 (NKJV)
Enoch aligned himself with God and lived a long fruitful life and did not see death. For he had faith and pleased God, and then God took him.
“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews – 11:5-6 (NKJV)
Will you have faith and take the Hand of Jesus and walk with God or will you continue to walk alone? Jesus invites you to pick up your own cross and follow Him, He is the truth that leads to life, by Him there is no other way to The Father.
Heavenly Father, God Almighty, we muster up all the faith that we can and take your loving hand! We enter into this new year with only one resolution that really matters: “to have a relationship with your Son Jesus Christ, where we walk in sync with your will, we align ourselves with Your ways, we stand in the truth and nothing but the truth and we follow Your Word and do what it says!” And just like Enoch we will have the same testimony “that we pleased God” And it’s in Your name that we commit to these things! Amen!
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.” Jude 1:24-25 (NKJV)
May you walk the straight and narrow path that leads to life in 2020 and beyond!
Love in Christ,
