We join Pastor David Crespo in the Gospel of Mark as we continue in our latest series titled, “Messiah On The Move”. Today we turn to Chapter one and look at verses nine through thirteen where we will learn about Jesus’ baptism and Jesus’ temptation. Yes, Jesus was baptized, and yes, Jesus was tempted! Hebrews 4:15 tells us, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Jesus was indeed tempted, but He did not sin! Jesus is our example and we need to follow His example! Let’s listen in to learn more!
Mark 1:9-13 New King James Version
John Baptizes Jesus
9 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately, coming up [a]from the water, He saw the heavens [b]parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Satan Tempts Jesus
12 Immediately the Spirit [c]drove Him into the wilderness. 13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
